In autumn 2012 in the Sviatoshynskiy district of Kyiv started construction of an innovative park called Bionic Hill, which will be focused for the companies specializing in high technologies. Kyiv City Hall (Kyiv City State Administration) has promised to help create a Ukrainian analogue of Silicon Valley. UDP is going to take the company to build and invest up to $ 1 billion creators promise to IT-companies to lower prices for the rental of office and manufacturing facilities. Completion of the project - by the end of 2014. Kyiv City Hall will invest in infrastructure Bionic Hill about $ 80 million from the budget of the capital. Park called Bionic Hill plans to build in 363 acres near the village Kotsyubinske near Kyiv. UDP is planning to create a research center, high-production area, two office centers (a total area of 225 thousand sq. m.), 2 residential complex (10 thousand inhabitants), hotel and sports complex. Funding for the first phase of construction - one office and one residential complex with a total area of 100 thousand square meters. The Kyiv city state administration will be engaged roads and public transport.
If the project is implemented, it will work for 35 thousand specialists in the field of IT, biotechnology, technologies energy conservation and alternative energy sources, says Vice President of project Bionic Hill Victor Galasyuk. The creators are looking to the future optimistically, expecting revenue of companies-residents of the park at $ 1 billion a year, and exports of IT products worth about $ 700 million a year. Insider in the real estate development company claims that a number of large outsourcing companies planning to move to the Bionic Hill, and the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy will be engage the development of the Science Centre.
Among the top management of large IT-companies operating in Ukraine there is no single opinion on the "Ukrainian Skolkovo." Director General of "Microsoft Ukraine" Dmytro Shymkiv said that his company has not yet made a decision about the future move to Bionic Hill, but intends to cooperate with the project.
