Ukraine convicts malware developers who were after bank money
Three hackers have received five-year prison terms with three-year deferment for developing and trying to provide banks with malware, called Carberp, that was used for for tampering with automated data processing systems of financial institutions and further robbery of funds from the accounts of their customers.
Illegal activity of hackers in various regions of Ukraine and Russia has been stopped in March due to efforts of Security Service of Ukraine jointly with Federal Security Service pf Russia. In addition, in Odesa was arrested a group's organizer who is a citizen of Russia.
It was seized as well computer equipment used to interfere with the operations of financial institutions.
