International Bank of Azerbaijan halves time of ‘day-end closing’ to accelerate Internet banking development
The International Bank of Azerbaijan has upgraded its operating system and reduced the time of closing of the trading day (end of day - EOD).
In Baku IBA information technology director Yalcin Taghizadeh says that modernization scheme was developed by Bank’s partner Business Communications on the basis of IBM technologies.
"Fulfillment of the work was required in connection with the rapid development of Internet banking and other operations of the Bank. Because of their rapid development of EOD in the Bank was 7-8 hours, time of opening of a window for users of Internet services reached 20-30 seconds, and updating of ABC up to the minute. Application of data storage system IBM Storwize V7000 EOD enabled to reduce to 4-5 hours the opening of the window to 5-10 seconds and updates to 10-15 seconds.
Today the Bank is considering prospects of updating server capacity on the basis of IBM PureFlex solutions,” Tagizade said.
The IBA and Business Communications have been cooperating with IBM since 1993, being the corporation’s old customers and partners in Azerbaijan.
