Apple has become the market leader in telephones in Japan last year
In 2012, Apple became the market leader of mobile phones in Japan with a share of 15%, beating local manufacturers of mobile devices. These are the findings of the analytical company Counterpoint Research. At the end of the last year, the American company overtook the Japanese manufacturers Sharp and Fujitsu, having 14% of the market share each.
Sharp, struggling with a corporate crisis in the last few months, has been leading the market of mobile phones in the country over the previous six years. The launch of the iPhone 5 model in autumn, 2012 by Apple has contributed to its success.
