Russian Online Shops Demand to Amend the Law "On Personal Data"
Russian Association of E-Commerce (RAEC) is preparing its suggestions regarding amendments to the Federal law N 152 «On Personal Data», which will be submitted to the State Duma in the beginning of September 2012. Among the others there is a suggestion to consider a click as a written consent to the personal data processing.
«If an online shop processes the client’s personal data according to the current law it should get the client’s written consent. The law doesn’t differentiate electronic and non-electronic consent, now it’s time to fix this. Each online shop can’t get consents from the clients, so a click should be considered as a consent by the law», said Gleb Shuklin, analytic of RAEC.
